Joining the Club

The club meets every Tuesday night at the Wheatsheaf on the corner of  Market Street and Tower street in Wolverhampton from 9.30pm onwards. The pub is near the Express & Star building and there is plenty of free parking in the neighboring streets.

We have a busy meets program throughout the year – and we normally organise these weekends the Tuesday prior to the meet. Outside of the organised meets, there are always club members trying to make the most of the weekend, and Tuesday is vital part of organising what’s going on.

When you first come to see us the meets secatary will take you thought the details of the club but in summary to become a member of the club you must attend atleast 3 official meets (meets listed on the meets program). This gives us chance to get to know you and more importantly its a chance for you to get to know us.  You will then be voted in to the club by the committee and once your application is accepted you will ask to pay your membership fee to become a full member. This is the first time we ask for any money from you and there are benifits to club membersip such as third party liability insurance and BMC membership. Discounts may apply to the membership fee but at around £20 per year it is unlikely to break the bank.

We have put up the answer to a few of the more in-depth questions you might have about the club here. It does not matter if you enjoy walking, climbing, mountaineering or just spending time in the countryside; it only matters that you enjoy your time with the club. Nor does it matter what your level of experience is – most new members enjoy trying new activities with the experience of the club behind them, but whatever your experience, we think you’ll find existing members at your level.

If you can’t make it on Tuesday or have questions which aren’t answered in the Common Questions section, then please just drop us an email .
