Answer

·  What is Tal Y Braich?

Tal Y Braich is the club hut. Renovated by the club members themselves, this hut is a homely base to give the members easy access to the hills.

·  So, where is it?

Tal Y Braich is near Llanberis in North Wales - a couple of hours drive from Wolverhampton. Members are up there most weekends, so you can organise a lift up on a Tuesday by popping into the New Inn.

·  How much does the hut cost?

The Hut costs £6.00 for non-members, £3.00 for members and £4.00 for guests.

·  At that price, is it just a barn?

No, it is more of a cottage. There are showers and full toilet facilities, a fully fitted kitchen with crockery cutlery etc, and a large living room with open fire. The cottage has been recently renovated to a very high standard, with a significant amount of the work being carried out by the members themselves.

·  So, does the club only visit North Wales?

We are a very active club, so we travel all over the country. For a list of the official club meets, please visit the Future Meets link on the left hand side. However, members frequently organise trips for themselves on a Tuesday at the New Inn - be it hot rock trips to foreign destinations or a weekend ice climbing in Scotland. Because we let our hut through the reciprocal rights of the BMC, we have numerous huts we can use all over the UK.
