CURRENT GUIDANCE

We acknowledge that 2020 might not have gone to plan, not least for your climbing goals. Rest assured, the committe have been meeting montly over zoom to make sure our response, especially the management of our hut, keeps everyone safe and up-to-date with the latest government guidelines. Here are the headlines:

tal-y-braich

The hut was closed in accordance with the Welsh first ministers 'firebreak' between 23rd October and 9th November 2020. Unfortunately the UK has re-entered a second period of lockdown and as such, the hut will remain closed until 2nd December. Bookings will be cancelled or postponed accordingly, please either talk to Mike Gutteridge (Hut Booking Secretary) or fill out a hut enquiry here. Please return here for more details following the lifting of the second lockdown, as hut use is still not guaranteed.

outdoor meets

All scheduled outdoor meets extending over more than one day (requiring either bunkhouses or campsites) have been cancelled. Day meets are still encouraged with social distancing being maintained. We know this might be difficult in a climbing party, so please take any precautions you feel are necessary and ahdere to local lockdown restrictions where necessary. Be mindful of the restrictions in the area you are travelling to. Guy Oliver (Outdoor Meets Secretary) will be coordinating more single day events until the end of 2020.

INDOOR meets

All indoor meets for 2020, including the annual dinner meet, have been cancelled. Jonathan Wilkes (Indoor Meets Secretary) and the committee will be looking at starting other digital events, including email quizes and zoom slideshows. This is dependent on club appetite, for which a survey will be coming soon.

GRANT FUNDING

It's not all bad news! As a small business we qualified for a £10k grant to support us through lockdown. The committee is still discussing the use of this funding (although there is no burning platform), and we will keep you posted of any decisions made. Please do let us know your thoughts by getting in touch with a committee member!

Stay safe everyone!
