OUR CLUB
Whether you're completely green, or an old hat - you'll find your outdoor mojo with the WMC.
Our members are a varied bunch, and by joining our club you'll have access to a vibrant community with regular meets and informal trips. While we are a mountaineering club by name, our interests extend to many different excuses to get outside!
CLIMBING
From Staffordshire outcrops to suntrap southern sea-cliffs and everything in-between. Our hut is also spitting distance (almost..) from Dinowig slate quarries, if you're in that kind of mood!
MOUNTAINEeRING
Thinking of tackling some mega Alpine routes or maybe you just need to challenge yourself in the unforgiving Scottish winter - we've got the bug too. Sometimes we'll bring our skis along for the ride!
MTB and ROAD Cycling
So popular, we have official meets now dedicated to mountain biking! A popular option for when it's not climbing weather, or you need to give your fingetips a break may of our club members are keen cyclists (though a few of us prefer our bikes with engines...)
caving
What used to be the preserve of weirdos and trolls has seen a surge in popularity as of late. Our club has a handful of cavers that can introduce you to the scene - and don't worry - they're still weirdos.
Walking and scrambling
Not everyone still hangs out on the end of a rope. For a number of our members, getting out into the hills for a fabulous walk is what it's all about. For a few others, walking back from the pub is an achievement.

JOIN OUR CLUB
We welcome new members aged 18+ from Wolverhampton & the surrounding areas. As a new 'prospective' member, you'll need to attend three meets from our meets calendar within twelve months - this gives you an opportunity to meet lots of club members and for us to get to know you too! Having done three official meets your proposed application for membership will then be voted on by the WMC committee.
BMC Clubs Combined Liability Insurance.
Like most sports, third party liability insurance is necessary for participating in WMC activities - but as a new prospective member you'll be covered for three months (during which most prospective members manage to get their three official meets in), and third party liability insurance is part of the BMC membership that you sign up for when joining WMC. Depending on when you joined this will either be a six or twelve month BMC subscription fee.

Our members climb indoors at local walls throughout the week and are normally off on an adventure each weekend. Get in touch to find opportunities to join us beyond the meets arranged on our calendar.
