Dave belaying looking out over Ogwen valley
We finally managed to have a meet with a forecast that didn’t mention rain. Over 20 members headed up to the hut for a weekend of climbing, walking and biking.
A small team, including Sam, Kay and Neil, headed up to the east face of Tryfan to climb grooved arete. This took longer than expected and turned out to be a mini epic with the teams getting back to the A5 around 10pm.
Dave, Rich and Monika headed up to bochlwyd buttress for a few easier climbs. It is a great little crag and a nice reintroduction after Richard’s long winter break from climbing.
Dave Williams and Ralph treked up to Craig Lloer to do a few vegetated routes before picking up Nick after his walk around the Carneddau.
John and Sandra visited the moelwyns on the way up on Saturday. On sunday Rich and Dave a little crag not far from the moelwyns, Carreg y Foel Gron. Its a nice little crag albeit very windy on the day we visited
Also on sunday a large group, taking advantage of the good weather, went to the north face of Betws’ High street and successfully climbed cream tea direct taking the Cotswolds store indirect finish. Much fun and scoffing was had by all.
